Official summary, as published

This document is an administrative, programmatic, or contractor-produced record related to the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)-administered program active from 2008 to 2012. AAWSAP’s official scope of work identified 12 technical research areas relating to potential aerospace threats over a time horizon of more than 40 years. As part of the broader program record, the file documents how AAWSAP was scoped, organized, tasked, funded, executed, or described at a particular point in time.

This November 2008 compilation appears to be a set of technical materials prepared by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) for Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) under a separate supporting contract. The file presents MUFON-produced topical papers framed around AAWSAP’s technical research areas, including at least a paper on “Lift,” while treating historical and contemporary unidentified flying object or unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) reporting as a relevant source base for evaluating advanced aerospace capabilities.

Named in this file

6 names

People, programs and institutions from The Legacy Program research board whose names appear in this file, found by exact spelling against a hand-checked list. A match says only that the file names them, not what part they play. People and programs lists every file that names each one.

Our reading

PROGRAM RECORD

Five short MUFON Advanced Technology Establishment papers delivered to BAASS in November 2008, one per AAWSAP technical area: Lift, Power Generation, Control, Human Interface and Propulsion. They treat UFO reports as engineering data: superconducting toroids riding Earth's magnetic field, purchase of a cold fusion research facility, and, in Human Interface, reverse engineering of alleged abductee implants. One milestone list reads 'Results surprise everyone'.

Three separate measures, each with its reason. They are never added into a score.

E Evidence 0 of 3

N Novelty 2 of 3

Judged from the file; no earlier publication checked; contractor papers not seen in earlier releases we checked

L Linkage 3 of 3
